"The Lake Pukaki and Aoraki (Mount Cook) area has ridiculously changeable weather. I took this photograph on the way back from Aoraki one day, after a job shooting glaciers from above. It was early winter, and our timing was just perfect as there had been a huge amount of weather come through in the days prior, but it had cleared up, and the entire area was now blanketed in snow. Lucky, though, that we travelled back when we did, because this gorgeous sunlight promptly melted most of the snow, which paired with more rain, washed out roads and isolated the Mount Cook village. This part of the country is no joke."
